Sometimes things are going smooth, and other times they are really crashing hard. In order for me to catch the wave I had to learn from my mistakes. Waves are changing constantly, one day there small and soft, and other days there hard and jagged. You will fall down and get to the lowest there is, and one day you will get back up and be on top again. Life is an unexpected surprise. You never know what you will be given, and when you realize what you have you need to grab it and run with it. Writing is also unexpected; you never know what you will be given to write about. When you know what you have to write about you have to give it everything you have just like you would to get ready for a wave about to crash.

Different writers have their own unique way of writing a paper. Over this pass tenth grade year, my writing in the composing domain has improved increasingly since the beginning of the year. My central ideas are usually my best parts in my writing. I like to know that the readers know what the main idea is, and what I’m talking about. Elaboration is very important in a piece of work. Without elaboration, your writing is boring and dull. I love when I get on a subject and I use details to make it even juicier, it really proves that I know the concept of elaboration. Overall, my unity in my writing has gotten a lot better. I’ve learned to connect my paragraphs and link them to make since in my writing. Organizing my paragraphs and sentences not only helps me understand how to form a paper, it helps me collect all my thoughts and feelings.

This year my writing in the written expression domain has had much progression. Ive learned how to choose different vocabulary words and mix them into my sentences to understand the meaning of them. I also try to make each sentence sound as different as possible. Repeating the same sentences and words can make your writing boring, and not grab the reader’s attention as easily. In my opinion my tone in my writing is very strong and strait forward. I express the feeling of the paper by using vocabulary words and appealing to the five senses. The voice in a paper is a huge part in writing a paper . The reader can really tell how you are feeling or how you describe something.

My writing in the usage/mechanics domain has improved a lot since the begging of the year. I would have to say that this is probably my weakest category in my writing. I make a lot of mistakes, and common errors. All though my usage and sentence formation is overall well, my mechanics could still use some help. I’ve gotten a lot better checking over my writing, and correcting my self when I make a mistake. I think my writing would be better in the mechanics domain if I, paid more attention, and didn’t make it such a routine all the time. Usage and mechanics are really important to any writer. Their pretty much the basics and you need to know them before you go on to the next step.
